Fossil Free Fridays
Welcome to Fossil Free Fridays, a youth-led campaign focused on the 3 C's: Compassion, Community, and a Healthy Climate. Our mission is to unite people in creating a sustainable and just future. We encourage everyone to travel fossil fuel-free on Fridays, starting January 20th.

Compassion
Compassion drives meaningful change. Caring for each other and the planet creates a more equitable and sustainable world. This campaign counters recent administrative support for division, fossil fuel pollution, and self-interest through acts of kindness and environmental stewardship.

Community
Strength lies in community. By uniting, we make significant impacts. Fridays United for Compassion, Climate, and Community is a movement, not just a campaign. Traveling fossil fuel-free fosters connections, explores New Haven, and builds a stronger, united community.

A Healthy Climate
Reducing fossil fuel reliance is essential for a healthy climate. Using less gasoline and SOVs decreases pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Walking, taking the train, bus, biking, carpooling, skateboarding, or using e-vehicles all contribute to fighting climate change.

Why?
Reducing fossil fuel usage is crucial due to their role in greenhouse gas emissions and climate change. They cause air pollution, leading to health issues like respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. Moreover, reliance on fossil fuels creates economic vulnerabilities and delays renewable energy progress.

By choosing to walk, bike, take public transit, carpool, or use e-vehicles, we can significantly reduce our carbon footprint. Traveling fossil fuel-free on Fridays not only helps protect the environment but also fosters community connections while promoting healthier lifestyles.

Join us in making a difference. By embracing Compassion, Community, and a Healthy Climate, we can create a better future for all. Let's unite for a cleaner, greener, and more connected world. Together, we can turn the tide and promote a more sustainable and just society.
