Position Title: Program Coordinator

Start Date: June 1st, 2018

Hours: 10-12 hours/week

Pay: $15/hour

Location: New Haven, Connecticut

goNewHavengo seeks a Program Coordinator to oversee all aspects of the coalition. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, organizing events, running coalition meetings, and managing fundraising. The successful candidate will seamlessly conduct communications and marketing for the coalition, coordinate goNewHavengo’s partners, and work on planning for the long-term success of the organization.


Responsibilities include:

  • Working with coalition members to plan and evaluate goNewHavengo events (e.g.Transportation on Tap, the CarFree Challenge, and the Clean Air Run)

  • Writing grant applications and seeking out other sources of funding

  • Designing goNewHavengo’s digital strategy

  • Spearheading the 2019-2021 strategic planning process for the coalition

  • Writing engaging social media posts

  • Updating and improving goNewHavengo’s website


Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in related fields such as city planning, urban studies, community development, environmental studies, urban design, transportation planning, engineering, or climate change planning.

  • Outstanding communication skills, both spoken and written, including email and phone communication. Must be comfortable interacting with the press.

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in event planning, logistics, and marketing.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to coordinate many parties.

  • Demonstrated interest or experience in sustainable transportation (e.g. work, volunteer, or practical experience).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Graduate student in related fields such as city planning, urban studies, community development, urban design, environmental studies, transportation planning, or climate change planning.
